Ainsdale Fine Chocolate is a boutique Chocolaterie, Patisserie Café in Ainsdale, Merseyside. All chocolate work is hand crafted onsite using traditional methods of tempering chocolate, moulding and filling pralines - by Chocolatier Robert Swinden.
Most recipes originate from over 28 years experience gained working alongside Master Chocolatiers from Belgium, Germany and France, taking this inspiration we have put a British twist on the chocolate recipes, such as English Strawberry & Pimms, Everton Toffee Mint, Cheshire Honey Flower, Liverpool Gin, Anglesey Salted Caramel, William Fox Cinnamon and now the delicious Aintree Dark Caramel ganache (Jockeys Cap!).
The Patisserie is also influenced by the Chocolate shops and Patisseries of Europe and Britain - the dream to create something special. The idea that chocolate could inspire, to ignite connections with chocolate’s deep sensory pleasure and personality
Joanne Harris, who wrote Chocolat (our favourite story!) captured the romance and mystery of chocolate and how our combined senses will always fail to resist it. One of our heroes, Roald Dahl, most famous for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wrote about it because it gave him the incredible scope for exaggeration he loved. What other food could feature in plots like these?
All chocolate work is handcrafted onsite in our kitchen, prepared in the artisanal way by hand. Only the finest couverture, cocoa butter and ingredients are used throughout the chocolate range. Chocolates can be purchased as gift pack, boxes, bags or loose to enjoy. We also prepare a range of single origin bars, flavoured chocolate and filled bars.
We wanted to produce chocolate that tasted of chocolate, not just of sugar. So much chocolate is over-sweet. We took the alternative route, and produced chocolate pralines and single origin estate couverture that is high in cocoa mass, cocoa butter and cream.
Our couverture chocolate blends are imported from Europe, including French and Belgian couvertures. As a specialist chocolate business, we work with specialist suppliers because we are confident of their commitment to fair and sustainable cocoa production. Ainsdale Fine Chocolate By: RS Swinden is not Fair Trade. Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance are excellent programs (not without their own issues) but alone is only a small part of solving the problems in a world of growing demand
